Literature Text
Who are you, impostor?
I see straight through the glass walls
your symptoms trap you in
I can tell your hair is not the color
that it used to be
And the ink on your arms is barely dry.
I can see in through the windows,
I can see into your small brown eyes.
What was yesterday?
How high has it risen?
You already know you've lost.
You'll never gain our affection,
our hearts are all still broken.
You've slashed your credibility
and sliced your reputation.
I know that time goes on,
and I understand that things change,
but we should go on our different ways.
And as you try to charm those who have already been charmed,
And try to reach those who have already been reached,
And when the fame gets to your head,
when your ego inflates so much and
your memories don't stand a chance-
You're still an impostor.
I see straight through the glass walls
your symptoms trap you in
I can tell your hair is not the color
that it used to be
And the ink on your arms is barely dry.
I can see in through the windows,
I can see into your small brown eyes.
